'unlike the arse feet are forward facing'
Growing up, Peter
lived next to a railway track
when trains thundered past his house
crockery rattled in the kitchen cupboards
windows shuddered
train quake
2.
Peter’s girlfriend Geraldine
feeds him pickled herrings
each one of Peter’s fishy kisses
provides Geraldine with half
her recommended daily intake
of Omega 3
fatty acids
————
on not revisiting
the past
unlike the arse
feet
are
forward
facing
pointed
in the direction
of greener
pastures
———-
in a bonfire in the backyard
the day after he moves out
his
pathetic
excuses
her
nagging
going up in flames
———————-
only joking
will death when it comes
have scales, claws?
when I’m gone
will my children miss me
will they reload
line me up, again, in their sights?
life’s so short
stilts would help a lot.
